Yoga
is more than just stretching the body into strange looking postures
with strange names, it creates expansion of breath, expansion of body
and expansion of mind. Where there is expansion, there is new space and
where there space there is space for transformation and growth.
What's the difference between yoga and acrobatics? For one thing, the breath. By
focusing on the breath, thereby deepening the breath, we bring new
energy into our body which reaches all the tight nooks and crannies in
the body and allows it to release. The breath is the bridge between
the body and the mind. As many of us know by now, the mind is a
difficult beast to control. By controlling the breath, we can control
the mind.
When we have a tight, rigid body, we tend to have a tight and rigid mind. The more we open our body, the more flexible we become, physically and mentally.
Having
a daily yoga asana (physical posture) routine, we allow the body to
open up again, the juices to flow and bringing strength, flexibility,
lightness and general well-being back into our life.
By
practicing a yoga routine specially for you designed by an Ayurvedic
practitioner, you are able to target specific ailments (acute or
chronic) or bring yourself and keep yourself in balance, physically and
mentally.
